Lung Transplant Fellowship Program

Funded fellowship training opportunities are available in lung transplantation. While flexible, The program is generally either 6 or 12 months in duration.  The fellow will be exposed to all aspects of lung transplantation including recipient selection, donor assessment, donor retrieval, recipient operation, pre- and post-operative care, and long term post-operative management.  We have a separate general thoracic surgery fellowship (5.3.2) but 6 months – 1 year can be incorporated into the training if that is desired.

Applications to the fellowship program can be received at any time but decisions will be made for these limited positions more than one year in advance.   The interested candidate should send a letter of intent, CV, and 3 reference letters to the fellowship director Dr. Thomas Waddell as early as possible.

Basic requirements for the fellowship program can be found at the University of Toronto Department of Surgery website http://surgery.utoronto.ca/education/fellowships.htm
